July 25, 2016 Thanks for the LOVE SUPPORT & LETTERS!!:)

Happy Pioneer Day!!

Well it has been another fantastic week workin' in the California heat. We were able to teach a couple lessons this week. So the guy that came to church is super cool. His name is Toby. He is super elect. We showed up to his place and he told us that he already wanted to be baptized. He had searched mormon.org and lds.org and just knew that it was true. So we taught him the restoration and set him on date for baptism. Now the unfortunate part was that when we found his address, he lives outside of our area. So we passed him off to the Vista 3rd ward missionaries. Then we had another lesson with a guy named Fazard. He had been taught before by missionaries but they never updated his teaching record. So we didn't know what he had been taught or what his background was. So we show up, he's super nice. We sit down and ask if we can start with a prayer and he says, "no." Then goes on to say how he is atheist and doesn't want to join or anything, just wants to know our history and beliefs. So we did teach him a little bit but it went nowhere. But hey at least we are teaching some lessons! We are super stoked about that!

We also have been working with our members a lot to get missionary work going. We currently have 3 families that are sharing the gospel with their friends and see some improvement. It's awesome to see how much happiness sharing the gospel does bring to those that do it. I will update you more next week on how things are going with that.

Something I want to invite you all to keep in mind this week: Elder Walkenfuss, a Spanish speaking missionary in our mission, his mom passed away Thursday morning completely unexpected due to a blood clot. His father also passed away a few years ago. I don't know all of the details, whether or not he has grandparents, but please just keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. I'm not exactly sure if he's going home or not.

I received all of the letters from the Miles fam last p-day in my year mark package. Thanks to you all for the love and support. It really means a lot, and really gives a boost in energy mentally and physically. So thank you!

Well I have to get running now but I will talk to you all next week!

Love,
Elder Miles
